Jess is a dog trainer with Instinct San Diego. She is passionate about helping families navigate behavior issues such as reactivity, fear, and dog-dog aggression, and also love working with puppies and adult dogs on manners and life skills. Jess has been working in animal welfare and behavior fields for 15 years, starting out working with various pit bull rescues to provide behavioral support to foster families and adopters, behavioral education to shelters with minimal resources, and breed education to local shelters. Over the past decade, Jess has offered her skills and knowledge to support our communities by volunteering and working for both local and national animal welfare organizations like Project Wildlife, ASPCA National Field Response, San Diego Humane Society disaster response team, and the ASPCA Behavioral Sciences Team. Jess is also a certified veterinary assistant, and works at a local animal hospital, where she spends time with patients of all shapes, sizes, breeds, and histories. Jess lives in central San Diego with her dog Anthem, who she met after Anthem was seized from a dog fighting case of about 50 dogs.
