Brian Burton
Sarah Fraser, Co-Founder, has worked with hundreds of owners and dogs with aggression, fear, and anxiety issues. Her primary role with Instinct is Behavior Consulting. Sarah is currently working toward her MA in Animal Behavior & Conservation at Hunter College. She has been volunteering at animal shelters for much of her life. Sarah owns an 11 year old rescue pit bull, Buster, CD, CGC, RN; a 3 year old rescue American Bulldog mix, Mozeez, RN, CGC, who finished as the top-ranking mixed breed in the Novice category at the 2015 AKC Rally National Championship; and a newly rescued 2 year old pit bull mix, Will, currently in training.
Brian Burton, Co-Founder has worked with hundreds of owners and dogs with aggression, fear, and anxiety issues. His primary role with Instinct is Behavior Consulting. Brian is currently working toward his MA in Animal Behavior & Conservation at Hunter College. Brian grew up fearful of dogs but overcame his fear and found a lifelong passion through shelter and rescue group volunteer work. He owns a 1 year old rescue rat terrier mix, Joey, currently in training. Brian's previous rat terrier mix, Sammy, CD, CGC, RAE2 finished as the top-ranking mixed breed in the 2013 and 2014 AKC Rally National Championships.

Trina Walsh is a full time dog trainer with Instinct Dog Behavior & Training. She is a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy Dog Trainer Professionals program and has also completed the esteemed IAABC Principles & Practice course. Trina has experience in behavior modification, basic obedience, puppy raising, and puppy development. She is currently completing her Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science at Lehman College. Trina has a long history of volunteer work at local animal shelters and with various rescue groups. Her rescue cattle dog mix, Murphy, often accompanies her to work as a Helper Dog.

Jessica Schulte is a private lessons instructor with Instinct Dog Behavior & Training. She has been working with dogs for fifteen years teaching private lessons as well as group classes. She has experience working with behavioral issues such as reactivity and fear as well as teaching dogs and puppies household manners. Jessica is a Certifying Official for NACSW K9 Nosework trials and ORTs, and has trained and competed with dogs in agility, competition obedience, Rally-O and K9 Nose Work. She currently lives with Trix, a rat-terrier mix who has her WCR Rally Level 1 title, her K9 Nose Work 2 title, all four Level 1 Element Specialty titles, and is working on her first Freestyle title. Jessica also holds an MFA in non-fiction writing from Columbia University.
Naomi Rotenberg is a part time administrator with Instinct Dog Behavior & Training. She has her MA in Animal Behavior & Conservation from Hunter College, and is currently working toward becoming a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner. She has experience in behavior modification, basic manners, and puppy development. She taught private lessons as well as group classes for three years in NYC before moving to Philadelphia, where she runs a pet training business and lives with her husband, daughter, rescued American Eskimo Dog (Uri), and cat (Rio).

Maya Robinson is a full time Manager of Welfare Programs and Certified Trainer at Instinct East Harlem. She is a Canine Good Citizen evaluator, and she has also completed the IAABC Principles & Practice course. Maya brings nearly a decade of experience working as a behavior and welfare specialist at a large city shelter/rescue organization, designing enrichment programs and behavior interventions for dogs with reactivity, anxiety, and aggression issues, and providing training support to owners post-adoption. Maya has experience competing in dog sports including AKC agility and rally. She lives with her two rescue pups, Pebbles & Pips, in NY.

Sarah Dixon is a full time Certified Dog Behavior Consultant with Instinct Dog Behavior & Training. She is skilled and experienced in helping owners of dogs with complex behavior issues including fear, aggression, and anxiety. Before joining Instinct, Sarah ran a successful training and behavior consulting business in British Columbia. Sarah has a Certificate in Canine Behavior Science and Technology through the Companion Animal Sciences Institute, and has completed the Living & Learning with Animals course and the IAABC Principles & Practice course. She has worked extensively in animal rescue, volunteering as a foster and a training consultant. Sarah competes and holds titles in a variety of dog sports. She is the proud owner of Brew (Australian Shepherd), Dexter (Belgian Shepherd), Lani (Corgi), and two cats.

Tiffany Gonsalves-McCaw is a part time dog trainer with Instinct Dog Behavior & Training. She is experienced in basic & advanced obedience, puppy development, and behavior modification. Tiffany and her rescued pit bull mix Dexter have earned their AKC Canine Good Citizen, AKC Obedience CD Companion Dog and AKC Rally RN titles. Tiffany volunteers with a number of animal rescue organizations fostering animals, running adoption days and providing training tips during the events as well as performing home checks for potential adopters.

Marc Rivera is a full time Puppy Raiser and Behavior Technician at Instinct East Harlem. He has 4 years of experience in the dog care field, including at the ASPCA and as a daycare manager. Marc is skilled at puppy care and development, regularly fostering young puppies for NYC rescue groups. He is also experienced in playgroup supervision and basic manners, and is comfortable handling and working with a wide range of breeds and temperaments. Marc has completed the Karen Pryor Foundations course and Robin Bennet's "Knowing Dogs" curriculum, and is currently enrolled in the Karen Pryor Puppy Start Right program. Marc is a Business Management student at BMCC, and wishes to pursue his M.A. in Computer Science.

Rosy is a full time Canine Care Manager and Puppy Raiser at Instinct East Harlem. She has earned her Karen Pryor Foundations program certificate and completed Robin Bennett's "Knowing Dogs" curriculum, and is currently enrolled in the Karen Pryor Puppy Start Right program. Rosy is experienced in puppy development, tricks training, and canine enrichment, and is especially skilled at working with fearful dogs. She is currently completing her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at Hunter College and then plans to pursue her MA in Animal Behavior. Rosy lives with her rescue Husky, Strider, and rescue hound mix, Finch.

Sarah is a Puppy Raiser and part time Behavior and Care Technician at Instinct East Harlem. She has 5 years of experience in the dog care field, starting at rural dog walking and boarding facility before expanding her interest in training in New York City. Sarah is skilled in puppy care and development as well as basic manners. She is about to receive her Certificate in the Advanced Psychology of Animal Behavior & Conservation from Hunter College and holds a BA in Psychology from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Sarah lives right outside of Manhattan in New Jersey with her little pup Kami.

She has completed the Karen Pryor Foundations course and Robin Bennett's "Knowings Dogs" curriculum; she is currently enrolled in the Karen Pryor Puppy Start Right program and will begin the Karen Pryor Academy Dog Trainer Professionals course in Summer 2017. Maggie holds a BSA in Anthropology from Georgia University; she lives in NYC with her adopted blind dog, Jack.
